Remembering with love for a brother of the heart.

Jimmy and I grew up together in Pratt, Kansas. I can still see him with his guitar strapped on playing his heart out with Jerry and the Runaways. I love Jimmy as a brother and miss him terribly and think of him often. Love ya, brother!

Final Mission of SP4 James W. Carter

SP4 James W. Carter was a vehicle mechanic assigned to the 666th Transportation Company. On December 18, 1970, the 666th was on convoy duty between Da Nang and Phu Bai. While returning from Da Nang over the Hai Van Pass they came under intensive small arms, mortar, and rocket fire. The convoy was forced to stop and all passengers on the 666th Shuttle truck took cover. When the convoy started moving again, SP4 Carter left the safety of a ditch to attempt to move the truck out of the kill zone. As he ran towards the truck, an RPG hit directly between the truck and SP4 Carter. He was killed instantly. For his heroism, he received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star for Valor.
