Went back to Honor you and nailed a
Dog tag with your name on a tree near where we lost you in Go Cong.

We played baseball in front of Jackie's house. Steve Mendez, Carlo Brussachetti, myself, my twin brother Tim, and lots of other neighborhood boys. For me, Jackie was the first friend killed in the war.

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. My friend Cary Rundle perished in this same tragedy. May you both rest in eternal peace.

Thank you for stepping up and answering your country's call. Thank you for your service and your sacrifice. Rest easy knowing you will never be forgotten.

Dear SA Jackie Carter,
Thank you for your service as a Seaman Apprentice from the U. S. S. WESTCHESTER COUNTY. Today is actually Columbus Day, and we remember those of you who served. It is important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
