Final Mission of ADJAN Gill L. Carter
ADJAN Gill L. Carter was crewman on a U.S. Navy UH-1B “Seawolf” helicopter from Helicopter Attack Squadron (Light) 3 (HA[L]-3), Task Force 116, U.S. Naval Forces, Vietnam. On August 17, 1967, Carter’s helicopter crashed into the South China Sea short of the runway at Vung Tau Airfield in Phuoc Tuy Province, RVN. He was killed in the incident.
