MIA Bracelet posted 3/1/19
Hullo from Australia. I noticed that your kind offer to forward an MIA bracelet appeared directly after my last but one post but I'm unsure if you intended it for us or as a more open offer. We have tried to find more information on the whereabouts and current status in locating the remains of Denis Carter (and his team mates) over the years but to no avail. Certainly there seemed to be a considerable amount of covering up in the days/weeks and more after this event, so perhaps no one will ever know what really went down, let alone live long enough to see their remains returned to the country they served. If you intend the bracelet to come to us we would be honoured to receive it and if not, then I hope that whoever it does go to wears it with pride. I wonder how you came to know about Denis - perhaps you knew him or perhaps, like us, you also served and wanted to honor him. Thank you so much for your remembrance. Kind regards from Kim

For Bev Lowe
Bev, I saw your posting just now (we are in Australia) and it made me feel better knowing that Denis did in fact have a family who loved him, but also sad that they never got over his death. For parents to lose a child always seems such dreadful news - to never know where he lay must have been just the worst outcome possible. Thank you for your continued remembrance. Sadly Denis' remains have never been located - nor those of his team mates. All we can do is honor them by never forgetting their service. Should you wish to get in touch I'm leaving my email address here. We have always wondered about Denis' background and his years before he joined up. Best regards from Kim

We were neighbors with his parents
We lived next door to his mom and dad in Lomita on Cypress Street in the early 1970’s. They were really nice people who never recovered from his loss. I was watching the tv show 1969 and it prompted me to check and see if he’d ever been found. As far as I can see, not yet...

Remembering -no matter how many years have passed
When we lived in CA it was suggested by Operation Just Cause that we might care to remember a Marine on behalf of all who served. We chose Denis as it appeared that he had no known family members so it was wonderful to see another posting on this site today - thank you Doc Williams. Semper Fi Marine - rest in peace.
