SGT Larry Martin Carroll
Sergeant Larry Carroll's Vietnam tour began March 4, 1968. He was killed in Kien Hoa, South Vietnam by a hostile ground explosion on November 24, 1968. I served with SGT Carroll and was two (2) feet from SGT Carroll when he stepped on that land mine. I was blown back into a fox hole full of sharp pointed spikes with poison on each tip. I put two belts above his knees too stop the bleeding. It took forty-five minutes for the chopper too get to us and land. His squad finally carried SGT Carroll to the chopper and off he went. We will miss SGT Carroll. Before SGT Carroll made E-5 he was point man also like myself. If you wish to contact me it can be done. solidwa1 @yahoo.com

honoring you...
Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. You were born ten days before me. I am 72 and have lived a long and fulfilling life. It is tragic you never had that same opportunity. May you rest in eternal peace.
