Thank You

Dear Cpl Stephen Carnine,
Thank you for your service as a Medical Corpsman. Thank you for the lives you saved. It is important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your strength, courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Stephen Michael Carnine

Did not know this site existed - learned of it in a book by Michael Connelly. But, Stevie dear, you are in my thoughts every day. I remember the good times we had (remember the watermelon incident from Kroger?). I still have your drum sticks and that favorite sweater you loved; told Ginny I'd give to her. Miss you so much. Cannot believe it's been so long; yet I remember gong to the funeral home like it was yesterday. To think that you'd be 70 years old! Wow! Say Hello to yours and my Mom for me.

2016 Memorial Day

Thinking of you this Memorial Day Doc. Thank you for the sacrifice to our Country.
We visited the Wall last year and saw your name with the 3 Brothers you died with that fateful day in 1968. D.Price, R. Muehlberg, and D. Pumphrey. You died trying to help them and other who were wounded that day. Today while looking for you on this page, I found another who was killed that day at this ambush. Capt. A. Luke was a chopper pilot who also lost his life trying to help us.

Your name is brought up from time to time on a unit website. It is also my post below from 10/5/14.

My dad's cousin also a Vietnam Vet

This is my dad's cousin also raised in Indianapolis. My dad was wounded I believe 6 or 9 months to the day he got to Vietnam. I've never really heard talk about Stephen, but I know my dad has fond memories of him growing up. RIP Stephen!!!
