The “Friends of Rocky Versace” remember one of Rocky’s fellow alumni from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point - a brother Ranger and Armor Officer - Captain Gary William Carlson, USMA Class of 1967, on what would’ve been his 75th birthday - 28 June 2020.

I grew up in West Bridgewater and one of my early recollections is hearing about your death. I was 14 at the time and it served to open my eyes to what was happening. I don't think we ever met. Some of my good friends in WB were Carlsons, maybe cousins; Peter, Bruce and David. It was a sad day.

Dear Captain Gary Carlson,
Thank you for your service as an Armored Reconnaissance Unit Commander, and West Point graduate. I hate that you died near your birthday, sigh. It is important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
