I knew Arthur in High School and considered him to be one of my closest friends. He was a gentle soul who was always kind and good-hearted. He loved history and his favorite teacher was Mr. Marshall who made history come alive in the classroom. Arthur did not have the benefit of being able to go to college and was drafted. He never complained, but accepted his fate and served like so many of the other names here, and like so many of the brave men and women who have served in all the wars our country has fought. I will never forget the supreme sacrifice he made for me and our country while I was fortunate enough to be studying in college. It was an economic lesson I will never forget. With the utmost of respect and thanks. Mike Durfor.
