NEIGHBORHOOD FRIENDS
JACK LIVED IN THE SAME NEIGHBORHOOD AS I DID. I WASN'T REAL GOOD FRIENDS WITH JACK BUT WE DID RUN AROUND IN SAME CROWD. HE SWAN IN THE RACE RIGHT BELOW HIS HOUSE. THIS IS WERE WE USE TO SWIM AND DRINK BEER IN THE SUMMER. IT WAS A SMALL NEIGHBORHOOD. RIGHT ABOVE THE HILL WERE HE LIVED WAS ANOTHER VETERAN WHO WAS KILLED IN VIET NAM PVT RAYMOND NOVOSOD. I ALSO LIVED A COUPLE BLOCKS FROM JACK. I ALSO AM A VIET NAM VET. I GOT ORDERS FOR VIET NAM ABOUT A MONTH AFTER MY BEST FRIEND RAYMOND WAS KILLED. I REMEMBER GETTING DRUNK AS HELL THE DAY BEFORE I LEFT FOR OAKLAND CA. I WAS SCARED BECAUSE I HAD FRIENDS KILLED IN VIET NAM AND THOUGHT I MIGHT NOT BE COMING BACK. RAYMOND AND JACK WERE ALSO FRIENDS AND HUNGOUT IN THE SAME CROWD. RAYMOND AND JACK WERE BOTH DRAFTED AND INFANTRY. I WAS A REMF. SO I SURVIVED

CACTI FOREVER
D Company, 1/35th Infantry, 3rd Brigade, 4th Inf Division.
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.
