honoring you...

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. The remembrance from Sandra Jean Pendleton is poignant and reflects the anguish experienced by so many who lost loved ones in this war. As long as you are remembered you will remain in our hearts forever....

THANK YOU

Dear PFC James Camp,
Thank you for your service as a Machine Gunner. You were born on my dad's birthday. Say hi to him in heaven, his name is Sam. As another summer comes to an end, it is important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Beloved Cousin

Today I will once again drive
And as each year I arrive
To meet with my cousin dear
Who dwells not far but near
and give him my greeting
On our sacred annual meeting

I try not to miss the occasion
So as not to cause any abrasion
Though I have not been perfect
My thoughts have always trekked
When I wasn't able to attend
To his place just around the bend

He never fails to show
The marine corp taught him so
And he was that way until the end
A man on whom you could depend
He had not any of my vice
He lived and loved and sacrificed

We never got that chummy
At his death I was in mom's tummy
But as I was to grow
Him I got to know
His compassion, his honesty and wit
And I'm a better man for it

No suitable thanks can I offer
So my respect in poem I proffer
And though he has perished
He will always be cherished
Rest easy under the Cypress
I salute thee "Semper Fidelis"
