A wonderful friend
David was a wonderful big brother when I lived in Redwood City as a young visitor to the city. His folks were close friends of my parents and David would "baby sit" my brother and I from time to time and we would hang out watching Route 66 and such programs of that era.
David was a wonderful person and he and his family remain in my heart .

honoring you...
Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. The letter to your parents is especially moving. I was so touched I copied it and shared it on my Facebook page. May you rest in eternal peace.

On your birthday
Remembering a kind, eloquent, enthusiastic young man; a former classmate, lost to the world too soon. Truly a person of great emotional intelligence. Forever missed.

You are a hero
Dearest David I am still shattered by your death as a young family friend in 1962 you and your family gave our family from Australia a warm welcome and took us into your hearts. I still grieve for your loss in such a pointless war. I think of your family and are sad of their loss. Watching Route 66 on the couch and being in awe of you as a big brother. I joined the air force in Australia as a tribute to you but still grieve your loss. RIP Brother.

Thanks
Dear Lcpl David Callis,
Thank you for your service as a Machine Gunner. As another summer comes to an end, it is important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
