Corporal Lyndal Ray Callihan, Served with Company D, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, Third Marine Amphibious Force.

This is his boot camp photo from Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Platoon 193. He earned the title “U.S. Marine” on August 11, 1967.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

Thank you for your service and your sacrifice. Thank you for stepping up and answering your country's call. Rest easy knowing you will never be forgotten.
