My memories

We met when we were kids. David was one of the nicest guys I knew. We dated a few times and really had fun.

One of our most memorable dates was when he took me to an Italian dance called the Sweetheart Ball. We doubled with a friend of his and a friend of mine. His friend and my dad had a confrontation and his friend hit my dad and gave him a blackeye! It was a night to remember!

We lost touch after that. Later he joined the military and went to Vietnam. It was heartbreaking when I heard of his death. I think about him often. He was a wonderful person. Rest in Peace, Soldier.

Thanks

Dear Lcpl David Calabria,
Thank you for your service as a Machine Gunner. As another summer comes to an end, it is important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear LCPL David Michael Calabria, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
