I think my father may have served with him...my middle name was in honor of him
My fathers name was Truman 'Toby" Leon Zani. he served as an FO/Marine with an artillery unit from 65/66 to 68 or so...CPL. He told me Fred was his best friend and was devastated upon his passing. Was so cool to put a face with the stories....

Ground Casualty
CPL Frederick C. Cain was an aircraft technician trained in aircraft communications and navigation systems. He was assigned to Marine Observation Squadron Six (VMO-6). On April 25, 1966, CPL Cain sustained a fatal chest wound at Ky Ha Airfield in Quang Ngai Province, RVN, when an automatic weapon was accidently discharged by a member of a Provisional Rifle Company.
