Ground Casualty
HM1 Edwin L. Cahall was a medical corpsman serving with Headquarters & Service Company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines, 3rd Marine Division. At 5:00 AM on June 9, 1968, a critically injured Cahall was found at the Battalion rear area at Ca Lu Combat Base in western Quang Tin Province, RVN. He was medivacked to Dong Ha Combat Base and later expired. The incident was initially reported a suspected suicide, prompting an investigation. Subsequent to the inquiry, Cahall’s casualty was recorded an “accidental homicide.” [Taken from coffeltdatabase.org]
