Peace with Honor

Henry, you were one of the brave that answered the call. You honored us by your service and sacrifice. We now honor you each time we stand and sing the words “THE LAND OF THE FREE AND THE HOME OF THE BRAVE”. Rest in Peace and Honor Henry.

Is this the Henry Caballero from the Bronx whose nickname was Hombre?

Sad to say I did not know Henry very well. He was a good friend of David Rouse of New York City. They both went to the same high school, but I don't remember the name. If someone can identify his school, they might have a photo in the yearbook. Rest in peace Henry.

Ground Casualty

SGT Henry J. Caballero was an infantryman serving with B Company, 2nd Battalion, 14th Infantry, 25th Infantry Division. At 0930 hours on July 3, 1969, SGT Caballero was with three other soldiers from B Company, 2/14th, when one of them fired a LAW (Light Antitank Weapon) into a hedgerow. When the projectile failed to detonate, the four men went to check it out. While they were examining it, the warhead exploded, fatally injuring Caballero and injuring the other three. THANK YOU

Dear Sgt Henry Caballero,
I hope your photo is put here because this is a wall of faces and yours is missing. Thank you for your service as an Infantryman. My brother-in-law, Frankie is also buried at St. Raymond's (Marine K Company), and my aunts Carmela and Flora. Say hi to them in heaven. As we celebrate Labor Day, and enjoy our freedom, it is important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
