In memory of “hose”

We both joined the Corps in January1969. We were in Plt319 @P.I. ITR @ Camp Gierger, ICT, Anti Tank Specialist, Staging Btl Camp Pendleton and finally the 3rd reg 3rdMar Div Vietnam until Aug 13,1969 at Mutters Ridge Vietnam. I remember when we were In Oki when we got paid before we went to Nam and you laid all your cash on the bar and said drinks on the house. You told me you would be killed when we got to Nam so I might as well spend it. I remember that terrible day on Aug 13, 69 when you were killed with 25 fellow marines on Mutters Ridge. RIP and SemperFi bro, the Hunter

do not stand at my grave and weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

As long as you are remembered you will always be with us....

Dear PFC James Byrne.
Thank you for your service as an Antitank Assaultman. As we celebrate Labor Day, and enjoy our freedom, it is important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.
