Rest in Peace

Hello Jay, I am currently a high school student in western Washington. I first saw your name on The Wall last year on a school trip to the capital. I figured there would be a Byerly there because our family has lived in this great nation for such a long time. The day after I had the incredible honor to present a wreath at The Tomb of the Unkown Soldier and during the ceremony I was thinking of how I would never forget your sacrifice to our country. I don’t know how I am related to you, but hopefully one day I’ll find out. I just want to let you know you will not be forgotten and that it is a great honor to share your name. I hope that you are proud looking down on me in Heaven and when I die I will be able to meet you. Thank you for your service and your sacrifice.
