A brother Marine

I went to Banks High School with Robert ( called him Warren). Went on the USS Mitchell to Okinawa with him. Liberty with him in Japan. My mother sent me the news paper chipping of his death, I was in Vietnam at the same time. He was a good friend and a great Marine. RIP brothers.

You are not forgotten

The war may be forgotten but the warrior will always be remembered. All gave Some-Some gave All. Rest in peace Robert.

Uncle Warren

I never got to meet you, but luckily your sister (my mom Patti Gay) has memorialized you in pictures, letters, and memory books, so that I can know a little more about you. The beautifully written letters, the caring for the family, and growing up so quickly as a 17 year old in war, is so compelling to read about. I hope that someone that may have served with you will find us and tell us your stories.

Remembered

DEAR PFC ALLEN.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE AS A FIELD RADIO OPERATOR. I HATE THAT YOU DIED 2 DAYS BEFORE YOUR BIRTHDAY. THIS HAPPENED TO A BROTHER OF SOMEONE I KNEW, AND THE PAIN WAS DEEP.
YOU WERE ONLY 17! YOU SHOULD HAVE LIVED.
REST IN PEACE AND SEMPER FI.
