I went to Banks and was two years ahead of Warren. Joined the Marines and was in Viet Nam when he was killed. I was at Phu Bai 4th Marine Regiment and he was in and around DaNang with the 9th Marine Regiment. He was a radio operator and I heard his squad walked into an ambush. A lot of people don't know this, but Warren had been recently promoted to L/Cpl in Viet Nam. All of his records state he was a PFC. He left us way too soon. Recently (05/24/2021) visited Warren's grave at Jefferson Memorial. Looks good. I eventually retired from the Marines with 22 years. MSgt David E Self USMC Retired

Brother in Arms
PFC Allen I imagine we passed each other in the hallways at Banks “63”. I would have been a senior and you a freshman/sophomore. I would later follow you into the Marine Corps and Vietnam “69” in the same province you made the ultimate sacrifice. A classmate commented the jocks picked on you. Having followed in your footsteps I will say you were twice the man they were. Semper Fi Brother! R.I.P
