Remembering An American Hero
Dear SP5 Lonnie R Butts, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, Sir
Curt Carter

Etched in My Heart
Lonnie, I recall your funeral though I was only 4 years old. You have been with me through all these years. Tears fill my eyes knowing that I never had the chance to know the Brave, Honorable and Unselfish young man, you, that I have read about. My deepest desire is to locate a picture of you and have it posted at The Educational Center and to learn more about you. I pray that God lets you be my Guardian Angel. I Love you and you are forever Etched in My Heart!
