Yes dear heart
Robert, I often look back on the days when you would come to visit.
You were just like the brother I never had. I remember the last time you were
home and we made that trip to the east coast to see Donna. Little did I know then that it would be the last summer we would spend together.
You went to war and gave your life so that me and all of America could live free. It was a great sacrifice.
I will always remember your last words to me:
Yes dear heart I'll see you again.
I guess I'll have to wait till I see you in heaven.

Remembering An American Hero
Dear SGT Robert Clyde Allen, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter
