Robert Butler was serving with B Battery, 6th Bn, 29th Arty, 4th Inf Div when killed by enemy mortar fire.

He was drafted into the Army in March 1966 after attending Hamilton High School in Memphis, TN.

He was married and had one daughter.

A PRAYER FOR ROBERT EARL BUTLER, 13A10, WHO ON JAN. 20. 1968 LOST HIS LIFE IN THE SERVICE OF HIS COUNTRY.
TO A FELLOW MEMPHIAN, A LOT HAS CHANGED IN 35 YEARS. WAS GOING TO LIST SOME OF THE CHANGES BUT ROBERT YOU PROBABLY KNOW, AND BESIDES IT WOULD BE YOUR WORLD AT 59, IF IT HAD NOT STOPPED AT 24. TO THOSE WHO WILL REMEMBER ROBERT TODAY, PEACE, MAY THE YEARS HAVE EASED YOUR PAIN.
