Warrant Officer Merle Floyd Butler II, Served with the 176th Assault Helicopter Company, 14th Aviation Battalion, 16th Aviation Group, Americal Division, United States Army Vietnam.

Merle was my friend. I have good memories of him in High School before we graduated and went different ways. His father was Army.
My best memories of Merle are us two singing "I got you Babe" "House of the Rising Sun" and "Like a Rolling Stone". We weren't fantastic, just fun.
Really miss that guy.
Merle Thank you for your sacrifice. It turns out you are noble as well.

Dear WO Merle Butler,
Thank you for your service as an Utility & Light Cargo Single Rotor Helicopter Pilot. As another summer comes to an end, it is important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

I graduated in 1965 as did Randy Gustfson. I was a good friend of Randyl's I will never forget what the two of you gave for our freedom. I was lucky as I made it home in 1967.
