THANK YOU

Dear Cpl William Bushey,
Thank you for your service as a Rifleman. Mahopac is one county down from me. sigh. As the another summer comes to an end, it is important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Mahopac Falls Child

Many of you knew Billy from school but here in Mahopac Falls where we grew up, Billy never left-----He's still here at the corner of Secor Road and Rte 6N----and I still visit with him often-----Good friends are hard to come by and impossible to give up on------at the risk of repeating myself----Billy never left.

Will never forget

You were the nicest person - from kindergarten up through high school. I will always remember rooting for you at all the sports games you played in. You were taken all too soon from us and will never be forgotten.

Named after

After Billy died a pact was made with his closest friends whom he went to school with, my husband Ken Gerdsmeier was one. The pact was who had the first son after would be named after Billy. Well ken and I had that son. His name is William Timothy Gerdsmeier. As I read the share remembrances I realize Billy touched so many people that he will never be forgotten.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear CPL William Timothy Bushey, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter
