Thank You

I have never met you, but I wish I could have. I married your nephew Bryce. He strongly resembles you. He has grown up to be a great man and would make you proud. He is currently serving in the Navy. We appreciate your sacrifice for our country. When you are spoken of, it is with pride and honor. May you rest in peace.

A Good officer

Richard was attached to Alpha Company 2/503 as Alphas artillery Forward Observer. When Alpha was attacked earlier in the battle during a massive human wave attack, while he was calling in artillery, he managed to escape up the Hill with others into the perimeter of Delta and Charlie Company. All this was under fire. He was later killed when a USMC Phantom Jet dropped two bombs on our perimeter. He was killed instantly. He was a well liked and competent officer.
