A brave soldier
I think of 1LT Burns very often. I and another soldier were running back and forth from the tracks and guns with fire extinguishers for the Lt and 1SG Lambert who were trying to control the sappers fire on the ammo pad. After the first 4-5 trips they told us to starte meeting them half way because the fire had gotten too intense and they didn’t want us to get hurt. The ammo blew up after my 2d halfway trip and I never saw them again. I was knocked down by the explosion, but was able to get up and away without injury. 1LT Burns and 1SG Lambert were brave soldiers

I’m never forget this brave man
The day we lost LT Burns stays in my thoughts. In a couple of days it will be 54 years since that day but it feel like it just happened.
