I wish they were wrong
Mike and I were both corpsman at the Naval Hospital Newport and shared an apartment there for a short time. We went to Field Med School and lost touch afterwards as I went to 3rd MarDiv and Mike to 1st MarDiv. I was told by a mutual acquaintance that Mike had been killed. Sad to lose a friend. Later when Visiting the Wall, and in other searches afterward, I could'nt find him and presumed I had gotten bad info. When the Wall of Faces was established, one day I just decided to look at all the Burns. There was Mike's smiling face. It hit me hard. I never knew his first name was Howard.
