You are still remembered Cousin Johnny, and missed.
Its been a long time, cuz. The family reunion at your folks farm South of Smithville, Mo, in 1960 or 61, I think. I may have just now found this site, but I want you to know; you were loved; are still missed; and have family who feel cheated in not being able to have had you grow and mature through this life with them; and live to a ripe old age.
That unpopular war took too many lives; Ruined too many families; Wrecked too many good men and women. But PFC John Lee Allen, I am Proud to call you family.
Dan Hoagland, USAF, Ret.

Remembering An American Hero
Dear PFC John Lee Allen, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter
