The times we had.
I dont know who got the other guy in trouble more...you or me. Best friends thru HS and join the Corps on the buddy system. Was devastated when I got the news of his death. Gone but never forgotten. S/F Buddy

Friend From Florida
In 1966 my family went to Florida on vacation. At the little vacation village where we stayed, Cypress Village, there were several families from Columbus, Ohio. I met a friendly, outgoing guy named Bill Burgoon. I remember how funny he was. Years later when I moved to Florida, my parents and my wife and I drove by the place where we were vacationing. I asked the owner if he knew what Bill Burgoon was doing. He looked down and said sadly that Bill Burgoon had been killed in Viet Nam.
Even though we knew each other for a very short time, I thought that Bill Burgoon was one of the nicest, friendliest people I had ever met. His death was a real loss. My sympathies to all of his Marine buddies. Our Country’s best served in Viet Nam. May God bless all of you guys.

I was with you that day.
I never forgot you Bill. It was only by the grace of God that I made it out of that ambush that day. It was an honor to serve with you.
