On this day June 4 1966
On this day, June 4, 2021, you have been gone 55 years. You were 26 years old when you were killed in Vietnam-a life too short. You were known as Ricky in Rye Neck, Westchester County, New York. You were captain of your high school basketball team, where you were top 10 honorable mention. You were President of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity pledge class at Gettysburg College. There is a memorial plaque at the college to you and others who died in Vietnam. In a letter from Vietnam to friends at Brewers Hardware in Mamaroneck where you worked part time for many years, "you wanted to set the record straight.....The politics involved is what bothers us..."
Some things have not changed.
Those who knew you thank and honor you for your service.
We think of you every day. You are always in our hearts and minds.
Susie

TODAY IS YOUR 81st BIRTHDAY
Before he left for Vietnam,Edgar(aka Rick) was in White House Marine Detachment& joined fellow marines lining roadway for President Kennedy's funeral cortege. He wrote letter friends at Brewers Hardware, where he worked during high school.
"To set things straight, the marines over here believe this war is important....The politics involved is what bothers us." He would be unhappy with today's world.!
Those of us who are still here remember and miss him still.
As always
Susie
