Casualty at Sea
AN James R. Burch Jr. served on the carrier USS Enterprise (CVAN-65). On March 17, 1968, AN Burch suffered a critical head injury after being struck by a launching F-4 Phantom II while the Enterprise was underway in the South China Sea. Burch died as he was being prepared for a medivac to Da Nang, RVN. [Taken from coffeltdatabase.org]
