honoring you...
Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. The remembrance from Peggy Skocik-Behney, which mentions you had but two weeks left to your end of tour, is especially poignant. may you rest in eternal peace.

Thank You
Dear SSGT Francis Bunch,
Thank you for your service as a Huey, UH-1 Helicopter Repairer. It is important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Remembering An American Hero
Dear SSGT Francis Joseph Bunch, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter

Thank you, SSGT Francis J. Bunch
On October 31, 1970 SSgt. Francis J. Bunch died in Vietnam at the age of 21. He was killed in a truck accident in which he was a passenger. Francis was a 1967 graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School in Wyncote, PA. At the time of his death he had only 2 weeks to go until he was to go home. He was in his 2nd tour of duty in Vietnam.
As a friend of the family, I attended his funeral. He looked so handsome in his full dress Army uniform.
He was a true hero who gave his life for his country and I will always remember him even though I never met him. I saw what he gave and am forever grateful to him. 'May God hold you in the hallow of His hand.'
