Bronze Star Medal Award for Valor

Staff Sergeant Robert Franklin Bulla, Jr. was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Valor, with Combat Distinguishing Device (V), for his exemplary gallantry in action. He was also awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Merit for his sustained meritorious service. He served as an Infantryman and was D CO, 1ST BN, 18TH INFANTRY, 1ST INF DIV.

Why Robert

I was just about 10ft away from Bulla when he was hit still to this day I don't know how I was never hit I can say Robert Bulla was a very fine shoilder and very good man I do remember that he never seemed to complain. I don't remember her name but she was his girl he s and seemed reddy for marriage and to get back to her and home in N C. I'm sorry I didn't know any more f his family I also want you to he did not suffer at all. Sorry for took me so long to reply to this not very easy but something I will never forget
