REMEMBRANCES

LEFT FOR KENNETH RICHARD BUELL
POSTED ON 3.28.2011

If I should die...remembrances for LCDR Kenneth Richard BUELL, USN...who made the ultimate sacrifice

If I should die, and leave you here awhile, be not like others, sore undone, who keep long vigils by the silent ndust, and weep...for MY sake, turn again to life, and smile...Nerving thy heart, and trembling hand to do something to comfort other hearts than thine...Complete these dear, unfinished tasks of mine...and I, perchance, may therein comfort you.

Do not stand at my grave and weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

Not Forgotten

My daughter went to Washington to the Vietnam Memorial Wall. I asked that she purchase a POW Bracelet from the Vietnam War. She picked Kenneth as her choice for me. My oldest daughter years before was sent on the same trip and brought me back one. The man I had was brought home to his family. I laid his bracelet at the wall near his name. I now wear Kenneth's name and never take off my bracelet. My prayers are with his family. God Bless.
