Bronze Star Medal Award for Valor
Corporal William Andrew Buck, Jr. was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for Valor, with Combat Distinguishing Device (V), for his exemplary gallantry in action. He served as a Rifleman and was assigned to the 3RD PLT, D CO, 3RD RECON BN, 3RD MARDIV.

A Boy Scout Remembered
I did not know Billy. I was three years old when he was killed. But my father, Robert Perry Moore, knew and loved Billy. My dad was a district executive with the Boy Scouts of America. He knew Billy through scouting, and knew his father as well. My dad recently turned 90, and has fond memories of young Billy.
