Ground Casualty
SSG Harry L. Bucher was a Construction Equipment Repairer serving with the 584th Light Equipment Company, 20th Engineer Battalion, 937th Engineer Group, 18th Engineer Brigade, U.S. Army Republic of Vietnam Engineer Command. During 1970, the 20th Engineer Battalion maintained two construction companies along with the 584th Light Equipment Company at Pleiku in Pleiku Province, RVN, to perform work along National Routes QL-14 and QL-19. On May 9, 1970, Bucher was fatally injured in a construction accident at a work site in Pleiku. do not stand at my grave and weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
