Who was Lt Allen and what happened to him
I didn't know 1st Lt Dean Allen, but after writing and researching this story I had the opportunity to meet people who did. This is his story.
All of his friends and family knew pieces of his life, but this profile brought something to all.
Thank you Dean Allen. I am traveling to DC this week to see your name and honor you. Please read his letters home and see his story this Memorial Day.

Your Mom
Remember your Mom sitting at our table sobbing about missing you and your “beautiful eyes”. Thank you for sacrificing everything for all of us.

do not stand at my grave and weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
As long as you are remembered you will never truly die.
I am not there; I do not sleep.

Missing you this Memorial Day.
Dean was a great friend, a classmate, a fantastic diver on the swim team and a nearby neighbor. He is missed every day but especially on Memorial Day.
