If I should die...remembrances for CPL. Alvia Grady BRYANT, USMC...SEMPER FI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If I should die, and leave you here awhile, be not like others, sore undone, who keep long vigils by the silent dust, and weep...for MY sake, turn again to life, and smile...Nerving thy heart and trembling hand to do something to comfort other hearts than thine...Complete these dear, unfinished tasks of mine...and I, perchance, may therein comfort you.

I touched your name...
I was there the day the "Wall" was dedicated and I thought of you and our other classmates who were lost during the war. There were so many people there that day that I couldn't even get close enough to see any names. A few years later, I visited the travelling
"Wall" when it came to Houston and looked for your name. My friend and I (also from Channelview) wept when we saw your name...such a stark remembrance of your being. You were so young--yet you gave your life to give us freedom. It was not in vain. We will always remember and honor you and your memory.
