I served with Daniel Allen Webster.

Allen was a couple years older then me, plus he was bigger then me so I thought it'd be a good idea to look up to him. He always had a smile for me and that was good enough. I wasn't far away on March 6th 1971

Attack on Quang Tri Combat Base – March 6, 1971

Quang Tri Combat Base was a United States Marine Corps, United States Army, and Army of the Republic of Vietnam (ARVN) base located on National Highway QL-1, approximately five miles northwest of Quang Tri and five miles southeast of Dong Ha beside the Thach Han River in Quang Tri Province, RVN. On the late night of March 6, 1971, the base underwent a ten-minute attack during which five 122mm rockets impacted within the perimeter. Four U.S. personnel were killed and another twelve were wounded. The lost men were all assigned to F Troop, 8th Cavalry, Americal Division. They included SP5 Daniel W. Allen Jr., SP5 Jerry Flores, SP5 Terry L. McClanahan, and SP4 Harvey W. Wright. [Taken from coffeltdatabase.org and virtualwall.org]
