A kind and gentle soul

We were classmates @ Maui High School '65. I was also in Vietnam when I heard of his death, but the full impact of his passing did not hit me until I paid my first visit to the Wall in August 2012. Seeing his name etched on that wall brought back a flood of memories of Walter and my own time in Vietnam. Walter was a quiet, gentle soul. I will remember his love of clothes, his souped up cars and his curly hair swept back in a ducktail.
Thank you for giving us an eternal place to remember and honor Walter and all of us who served, when no one else wanted to.

A debt of gratitude

Sir:
You gave your life, so we could have one. On behalf of my family, we thank you and to all who sacrificed.

Your Family Misses You

Taken from us too soon, Walter. Not enough time to love your wife or raise your son. You were just a young man, yourself. We miss you and remember the memories you left us. Rest in peace, dear brother; until we meet again. Aloha, from your sisters.
