My Hero I Never Met

This was a young man, my Hero, I never met but has left a lasting impression etched into my soul with all he was and all he stood for ... and the wonderful family he left behind.

I was just six years old when I learned for the first time the very real sacrifices brave men and women make for our beloved country and her people ... when I learned of Steven's death from my best friend, his baby sister.

This is to honor not just Steven's memory, but to thank his entire family. A wonderfully incredible close-knit family that I have known since I was a child ... A family Steven would be proud of as they were, and always will be, proud of him.

God Bless you CWO Steven Merle Brown. May you be resting in Paradise Sir.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear CWO Steven Merle Brown, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir

Curt Carter
