We Remember You on This Day
Russ - The other day the VFW was selling poppies for the
Memorial Day observance. As I was making my donation,
I was talking to the WWII veteran selling them, and we
both observed that very few people know the origins of
"Poppy Day". So I thought I would post this as a remberance
to you.
You continue to be rembered by the Marines of 2nd Plt.,
Charlie Co./1st Blt./5th Marines/1st. MARDIV
In Flanders Fields
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Beside him when he fell- Kit 's my name
Note to Browns mom-I am the one you sent a letter,
with questions about the way he felt about his raising
in ohio or indiana I have forgotten which state. I still
remember the coin you taped on the letter.

A Good Friend
A good friend who has been missed dearly. He left this world before he really had a chance to live his dreams. He will always have a special place in my heart.
