Working at the cemetery and uncovering your temporary marker, your name caught my attention. Going home to research you and finding out about your service, I had to know why you hadn't received your military headstone. I found the application your mother had submitted but was never received. It's my honor to make sure that this year, you will receive at least that. Your sacrifice deserved so much more than just a temporary plaque. Rest peacefully. I'll place your flag today at that temporary marker - but this time with a smile knowing that next Memorial Day, your name will be displayed with the honor you deserve.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
