I Remember!!
Uncle George,
I remember you before leaving for the military, I remember the letter you wrote to me while away, I remember where I was when we were notified of your death,I remember my Grandmother's face at your funeral,I remember the emptiness I felt after the funeral and I remember the love of an Uncle who served this country and gave his all,I love you, I miss you and I will never forget you,I remember!
Your Niece Gayle

My Great Uncle
I never known you but I too spent time in the military over 20 years. Combat weighs on you. People thank we do this for country, but we do this for the love of our fellow servicemen next to us! I’ll remember your name as long as I’m alive and my kids will know your name!

do not stand at my grave and weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
