To Put A Face With A Name

Dear Gene, to honor your memory and the sacrifice you made for your country I want to make sure your photo will be displayed on your birthday each and every year when the Education Center is completed, so it is with great pride and humility that I post this remembrance and picture of you. You are not forgotten and remain in the hearts of many all these years later. You have been designated to be one of God's special angels, along with the love of my life, who also sacrificed his life during this war 45 years ago. God Bless You, Gene, for being who you were and for all you did--we live in freedom to this day thanks to heroes like you.

Gene

I grew up with and went to High school with Swede at Boone High School Boone, Iowa. I entered the Air Force and became a Pilot, but did not know that Swede had done the same until I learned that he been killed in Nam while trying to land a B-52 at night in a bad storm. God Bless His Soul.

If I should die...remermbrances for MAJ. Gene Wesley BROWN, USAF...who made the ultimate sacrifice!!

If I should die, and leave you here awhile, be not like others, sore undone, who keep long vigils by the silent dust, and weep...for MY sake, turn again to life, and smile...Nerving thy heart, and trembling hand to do something to comfort other hearts than thine...Complete these dear, unfinished tasks of mine...and I, perchance, may therein comfort you.
