I remember you Bruce Alfred
You were coming home the same time my brother was from Boot Camp at Paris Island at the airport. I was with my dad, my brother and who was also returning from Boot Camp in the Marines. His name is Ed Malanik i’m not sure who else was in the car but I remember I was in the front seat. My dad said get in the back the soldier sit upfront so my brother and Bruce set up front with my dad was driving and my brother Ed. we drove you home to your home in St. Petersburg, Florida. I never forgot that experience you seemed like a kind, caring young man I was a college student I remember hearing about your death and then my dad we were talking about it and mom was so sad. It was around Christmas time and one time when I was with my brother, he had gotten married and had two children. We were going to the wall in Washington DC and we found your name. I want you to know that I am able to live my life because of soldiers who put their life on the line like you did and I will never forget you and appreciate everything you did and I honor your memory as memorial day approaches I think of you and other servicemen I give you my deepest respect.

Do No Stand at my Grave and Weep
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
As long as you are remembered you will never die...
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
