Remembering An American Hero
Dear AE3 Bobby Joe Brown, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter

Teenage Friends - Forever
Why God took you from a "supposedly" safe aircraft carrier at sea and let me, who wandered the rivers, come home will someday make sense.
Right now it doesn't.
I've always thought of the wall as a portal to the afterlife for those of us who served during 'Nam. When my time comes to go through that beautiful, black barrier I hope you are the one to meet me, so I can tell you what you missed by not being here.
Then you can tell me what I've missed by not being there.
Thanks for being my friend so many years ago and being a hero for all who knew you.
Later!!
