My Father
I don't remember my father because I was so young when he passed. I do have newspaper clipping, my mother and grandmother and other family members that keep his memory alive. I have just received some names of people that I think were his friends. If you are one, please feel free to contact me. Unee'Alford Abrams

SSGT Alford
I visited the memorial during a summer camp trip with the Marines. My last name is Alford so I searched and found the SSGT's name by chance. Not only does he bare the same race, similar facial features and last name as myself and my family. His place of birth was not too far from where my father was born. Remembering An American Hero
Dear SSGT Ulysses Alford, sir
As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.
May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.
With respect, and the best salute a civilian can muster for you, Sir
Curt Carter
