honoring you...

Thank you for your service to our country so long ago sir. The remembrance from fellow soldier Neil McCaffrey is poignant. As long as you are remembered you will always be with us...

Never will be forgotten

Jim and I played ball together at Newtown H.S.
I graduated a year before him....joined the Army. On leave we met and told him I was enjoying the service. He later joined the Marines. I was discharged in 3/66. In May 1966 Jim was KIA in Nam. When we returned to his house after his funeral, there was a letter from him waiting in his families mail box.
His mother read it aloud....in it he said he was fine and not to worry about him.
He also added that he thought he might bump into me there one day.
Great guy....great sense of humor.......R.I.P. Jimmy.

Thank You

Dear Cpl Brophy,
Thank you for your service as Machine Gunner. I came from Queens too. It is another summer, as time continues to pass since Vietnam. It is important for us all to acknowledge the sacrifices of those like you who answered our nation's call. Please watch over America, it stills needs your courage and faithfulness. Rest in peace with the angels.

Remembering An American Hero

Dear CPL James John Brophy, sir

As an American, I would like to thank you for your service and for your sacrifice made on behalf of our wonderful country. The youth of today could gain much by learning of heroes such as yourself, men and women whose courage and heart can never be questioned.

May God allow you to read this, and may He allow me to someday shake your hand when I get to Heaven to personally thank you. May he also allow my father to find you and shake your hand now to say thank you; for America, and for those who love you.

With respect, Sir

Curt Carter
