Thank you, Dan

The last time I saw you was in Palm Springs. There were four of us off-roading through the desert under the stars, shortly before you left for Vietnam.
It was a beautiful and magic moment, now frozen in time in my heart and soul. Had I known this would be the last time I would see you, I would have told you what an amazing man you were in every way: kind, loving, funny, handsome, super intelligent, and thoughtful in every way. You were and are a hero to me and everyone who knew you. Thank you for being you, Dan.

My husband's name is Daniel R Brophy, Captain USMC wounded 2/23/1969

We are from CA and many of his classmates from high school saw the death of Daniel R Brophy in the paper and thought it was my husband. So close but wrong casualty, but I have always wondered what the other DRB looked like and where he served. So now I know. Thoughts prayers and memories of a time long ago. My DRB is a wounded casualty 50 years in a wheelchair next month.

I remember Dan.

I went to High School with Dan. He was two years ahead of me and we played trombone together in the band. He was a great example to me and I was deeply saddened to hear that he had been killed in Vietnam. I "joined up" just after he was killed, and served there from June '69 - June '70. I'll never forget Dan!
